My wife, two preschool boys and I are looking into moving to Austin. We're currently living outside of Boston and want a better cost of living, climate, and more family friendly area. I work remotely so job isn't an issue. What is a great family friendly area that is close enough what's going on in the city but not smack dab in the middle of the city? We'd be looking to own a house in a community with a yard etc...

-Thanks

Northwest austin, lived here all my life, quite neighboorhood, great elementry school nearby (hill elementry) great reviews there so when your kids grow up they have a place to go

Look up the Allandale neighborhood in Austin. You're bound to find good prices on mortgages there, that'll certainly appreciate in value.

Search for property at www.newtxhomes.com and ask the Realtor James about greater Austin.
