I am a proud Texan. Not only is Austin our state capital, it is billed as the Live Music Capital of the World. You can always find something to do there...restaurants, clubs (SIXTH STREET!), SoCo, shopping and sightseeing. The Texas Hill Country has some of the best scenery around!

Yes I have! I am from south Texas and travel up to Austin very often (It takes about 3 1/2 to 4 hours to get there from where I'm from). Not only is it an incredibly beautiful city during the day with tons of culture and museums, but the night life is amazing. Live music galore. There are tons of great restaurants with every type of food you can think of. And of course, Austin is the home of the 2005 National Champs! Hook 'em Horns! The University of Texas football games are amazing to attend.
Overall, Austin is a great place to visit if you're down in Texas. You definitely should check it out.

"Keep Austin Weird"--check out the many great places to eat in Austin such as El Arroyo aka "The Ditch." Go boating on Lake Travis and hang out at Devil's Cove where you can find hundreds of boats tied up together on busy holidays. Play a round of disc golf at Pease Park. Check out a UT football game. Bar hop the night away along 4th and 6th Streets downtown. One visit and you will find why so many Texans love to visit our capital city.

I stay in Houston, so particular... i like Austin. I spent final Christmas there. Yes.. once when i was really little, but my mom went to college there and LOVED it! but, that was a long time ago, of course, so it might have changed.
